EVK Review
Everybody’s Kitchen, one of the two primary cafeterias at USC, has gotten better this year. On Wednesday, I went there for lunch. Here are some thoughts on some of the dishes I had.
First, waffle fries. These were quite good. They fried them with the potato skin still on them– similar to the fries at Chick-fil-A.
Next, tempura vegetables. The tempura vegetables weren’t as good, but they were good enough that I ate them. Vegetables included broccoli, zucchini, and carrots. The batter they use is much heavier than the light and crispy kind used at most Japanese restaurants. It would be awesome if they had tempura sauce.
Finally, artichoke asparagus penne pesto. The noodles with pesto sauce were reasonably good. It’s usually sitting there for awhile, though it’s good if you get it right after it’s cooked.
October 27, 2007 update: I’m “Related Post” surfing :) Maybe if you click the right links, you can follow me around. EVK could also stand for Elizabeth von Kleinsmid, or something like that. I’m taking a leave of absence from USC right now, but I’m looking forward to the Spring semester. I hope I accomplished enough during my time off. I’ll have to write about that sometime.
