Daylight Saving Time in the News
Get ready for DST to show up in the news within the next few days. I think it’s an interesting topic because it deals with time, which is definitely not easy to understand. DST now starts and ends on different dates than in past years, beginning this year– 2007.
I received an email from Palm titled: NEW Daylight Saving Time changes – Palm(R) device update required!
Here’s what it says:
You are receiving this product-related message because our records
indicate that you have purchased and/or registered a Palm device.Daylight Saving Time (DST) begins March 11, 2007 — three weeks
earlier than last year. DST will also last one week longer in the
fall as well, changing back to standard time on November 11, 2007.To help your calendar events and email reflect these new DST changes,
please visit the link below to download the DST update for all Palm(R)
devices. Remember, your device will NOT update automatically, so
please download this update from Palm.com before March 11:

That’s a little frightening; I’m sure there are quite a few people out there who depend on Palm devices, and considering how well computers have been updating their clocks for the past several years, people might be getting complacent. If the clocks don’t update automatically, at least a few people will be an hour late to their meetings. And that could make a big difference.
