Colbie Caillat – Bubbly at Age 21
Have you heard “Bubbly”?
Chances are – you have. Here it is on YouTube. I’ve heard it often, and it was only today that I Googled it to find out the name of the song and the name of the artist. Here’s the main section of the lyrics:
I’ve been awake for a while now
You got me feelin’ like a child now
‘Cause every time I see your bubbly face
I get the tinglies in a silly place
It starts in my toes
And I crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes, I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time, wherever you go
The rain is falling on my window pane
But we are hiding in a safer place
Under covers staying safe and warm
You give me feelings that I adore
It starts in my toes
And I crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes, I always know
That you make me smile
Please stay for a while now
Just take your time, wherever you go
It’s a great song. But here’s the really amazing thing: Colbie was 21 years old (so I have 1 more year :) ) when she released the song, which made it to #1 on the chart of US Adult Contemporary songs. Even more astounding, “though trained at piano from an early age, Caillat did not begin playing guitar until age nineteen”.
I should learn to play guitar.
